The name of the company came from an unexpected place: a conversation with his daughter, Ameerah, who suggested merging their names – David ‘N’ Ameerah – to form something truly meaningful: DNA. This name captures the essence of their relationship and the core belief that success in business, like in life, depends on having a foundation built on strong bonds, shared values, and trust.

How SAMMIE was born
Born from a high-stakes wake-up call
In 2017, our founder was personally tracking a critical container shipment for Majestic—our client’s first with Marriott Corporation after winning the account back from a competitor. We were managing by hand: screenshots from carrier sites uploaded to our ERP. Then, just one day before arrival, the vessel status flipped: Delayed by 10 days. Our client asked: “How, in 2017, can you not know where a vessel the size of a football field is?” That question changed everything.
The Mission
Determined to never repeat that mistake, we evaluated every tracking tool, pored over APIs, port sites, and third-party feeds, then combined them with human checks. The goal: platform-level visibility with real-world accuracy.
The Birth of SAMMIE
From a dream came the name: Shipping Analytical Maritime Management for Import and Exports — SAMMIE. But it isn’t just a name. It’s a full exception-management system powered by:

The result? The DNA Expert ETA, more accurate and proactive than any carrier estimate.

When Walmart asked for easier usability, we simplified SAMMIE’s interface to look and function like a spreadsheet—but with live alerts, exception flags, and a smart dashboard. It’s not just a tool—it’s a control center built for clarity and action.

SAMMIE is now a mission-critical platform, used by leading importers to manage risk, reduce delays, and reclaim control. It’s precision logistics—powered by intelligence, backed by experience.
